Membership is open to all candidates who have a medical degree and are not in a dedicated career pathway, or interested in pursuing one, in cancer surgery from all disciplines. Don't worry if you cannot obtain sponsors to support your application, please leave this section blank and the Association will provide sponsors from our National Committee and group of experts.

The membership benefits includes online subscription to the European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO), discounted registration fees to BASO~ACS conference and affiliate membership to ESSO & EYSAC with access to the BASO & ESSO Educational Portfolios and Grants.

Enjoy 50% reduction in membership fees when you join as a (Consultant) Full Member of the BASO~ACS for the initial two year of your membership.

An annual BASO TRAINEES Award is available to each of the specialist meetings to promote the development of research and audit interests amongst the current generation of trainees.

We never share membership information with any external organisations, but we may include relevant mailings from other groups that we believe will be of interest. However, as an affiliate member of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), we do provide the administrative office with the addresses of our BASO Trainees members. Additionally, BASO Trainees members’ addresses are shared with the publisher of EJSO for Journal distribution. We strictly adhere to data protection policies in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and GDPR, as outlined in our Privacy Notice located in the ‘About us’ section of our website.

Subscription Levels
BASO-ACS is commited to support and inspire future generations of surgical oncology. Our membership is also open to Medical Students, Foundation Years and Core Surgical Trainees with an interest in cancer care and surgical training.
BASO Trainees Member (member will receive ESSO affiliate membership & online EJSO subscription) £50.00 p.a. BASO Medical Student Member (BASO Medical Student members will receive online EJSO subscription) FREE We require proof of your medical student status such as a copy of the student ID card etc, these should be formatted as a .doc, .docx, .pdf or .jpg. Subscription Fees - Payment
The annual subscription is collected on the 1st July and includes receipt of the online subscription of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO) and affiliate membership of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) where applicable. See notes below. Please complete and return the attached Direct Debit Mandate Form to BASO ~ ACS to activate your membership subscription. Or Please make any cheques payable to 'BASO~The Association for Cancer Surgery'.

On completion of the form, we will email you back with details of a direct debit form which you will need to fill in and send either by email or post. You can also find the form to download on the page after submitting this form.
